Located at the center of Wesel, Hotel Zur Aue oozes traditional charm and convenience. Our stay in the studio apartment was satisfying - the combined living/sleeping area was cozy, and the well-equipped kitchen was a bonus. We appreciated the free wifi throughout the hotel and complimentary mineral water and coffee. The shared lounge area added to the homely atmosphere, making our evenings relaxed and enjoyable. Not only did the hotel offer free parking and secure bicycle storage, but they also catered to electric bike users with free charging facilities, which was a great help during our explorations of the well-marked bike paths in the floodplain nearby. The proximity to the River Rhine, just 1 km away, made for picturesque walks and bike rides.The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, adding to our pleasant experience. While the traditional decor might not be to everyone's taste, we found it charming and fitting for the setting. Being 36 km from Essen and 50 km from Weeze Airport, the location was convenient for our travel plans.Hotel Zur Aue provided a comfortable base for our leisure activities, including hiking and cycling, with the added convenience of nearby dining options and a welcoming on-site bar. For a relaxing stay with a touch of traditional German hospitality, Hotel Zur Aue is a solid choice.
